Bradley Wiggins’ gets custom carbon fibre shoes

Bradley Wiggins’ new custom carbon fibre shoes

Sir Bradley Wiggins has been back in action again at the European Championships this week, but this time it’s his shoes that have been getting all the attention!

Over His racing career Wiggo has changed his style of shoe on many occasions, Nothing really unusual about that. Most professional cyclists change shoes throughout their careers, either for sponsorship reasons or fitting issues. Bradley used to ride Bont’s carbon mouldable shoes, then more recently switched to Giro’s Empire lace-up shoe – he wore a gold pair for his successful Hour Record attempt.

While the Bont and Giro shoes are off-the-shelf products, that you or I can buy from any decent bike shop, his current race shoes are anything but. Ill admit to not knowing the full story about the shoes, however we have managed to find a short video with some very interesting developments as to how the shoes came to be.

The New McLaren P1 GTR = The P1 and some

Hot off the drawing board, the first revealed image of the brand new McLaren P1 GTR for when your P1 just isn’t EXtreme enough for you.

McLaren have now confirmed it will be building a track specific addition to the insane P1 called, wait for it ……………….. the P1 GTR.

The GTR will strap on an  additional 83 BHP for the P1 and at a whopping cost of £1.98 Million. But if you want to get you’re hands on one of these highly tuned carbon fibre pocket rockets you will have to of owned a P1 prior to even being invited to be considered for a GTR.

0-60 and 0-100 times are as of yet a dream in the minds of the tuning team at McLaren, but you can be certain they will be as mind blowing as the idea of this car its self.

Full bore Pagani Zonda Revolucion on track

The heavy metal soundtrack that’s been plucked from the Kerrang music channel is courtesy of a Mercedes AMG’s 6.0-litre V12 – naturally aspirated engine that’s been poked with hot irons to produce a whopping 789bhp and 538lb ft of torque. To put this into perspective that’s 50bhp and 14lb ft more than the Pagani Zonda R. Now that’s keen.

The entire car is proud to weigh less than a Mini Cooper, all down to its weight loss diet of #carbonfibre and a carbotanium tub at its core.

Just some of the copious amounts of carbon fibre Things found on board are, a huge rear diffuser and DRS (drag reduction system),  the same as the ones on a blooming Formula One car. And of course the carbon brakes that are 15 % lighter than the R, too, and claim less break fade.
